The New York Avenue Homeless Assistance Center

The New York Avenue Homeless Assistance Center (HAC) constitutes a redesign of the traditional Emergency Shelter. The hallmarks of the HAC are 24-hour access, wrap-around supportive services and intensive case management available to clients upon entry. The services offered on site are:

• immediate assessment, individualized care and triage
• primary health services
• mental health services
• substance abuse services
• case management and counseling services
• employment assistance including vocational training
• emergency assistance
• daily meals
